Project Description

Orthodontics for Kids and Teens
As your child grows and develops, he or she should see a Orthodontist who specializes in orthodontics for children. Orthodontic Associates can help your child grow up with a set of straight, healthy teeth.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child should start seeing an orthodontist at the age of seven, because your childโs teeth and skeletal structure are continually changing and can require treatments to correct. We make it easy to bring your child in for regular growth and development visits. We do not even charge for these visits unless treatment is required.
Throughout growth and development visits we can also help identify bad oral habits, like thumb-sucking, dependence to pacifiers past age one and tongue thrust habits. These habits past a very young age can become damaging to your child’s teeth and oral bite.
Once your child is old enough, we may recommend Invisalign treatment or modern braces to align his bite and straighten his teeth for a healthier, more beautiful smile.
Advantages of Early Treatment
- Proper jaw development
- Reduce the need for extraction and impaction of permanent teeth
- Reducing the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth
- Guiding permanent teeth into their optimal position
- Correction of any harmful oral habits
- Avoiding jaw surgery in later life
- Reserving or adding space for permanent teeth
- Optimal smile appearance and improved self esteem

A SMILE STORY
When Emily Pearson was is first grade, her classmates nicknamed her โbeaver teeth,โ because her front teeth stuck out poorly. Bravely, she would put on a smile each day and laugh with her friends, but she was deeply hurting inside.
โOne day after school, I cried and told my mom all that happened,โ said Emily. โI was bawling. Thatโs when my mom knew that I needed braces.โ
At age seven, we put braces on Emily, and were very excited to play a part in her journey toward a more confident smile. Surprisingly, even her friends at school were curious about her braces and jealous that she had braces perfecting her teeth and they didnโt.
Emily started to notice positive changes in her smile quickly, and her confidence grew.
โOnce I got them off in middle school, people thought my teeth were beautiful,” said Emily. โI get compliments on my smile all the time.โ
With her newfound confidence and beautiful smile to match, Emily wants to encourage other kids starting their orthodontic treatment.
โIn the end, your teeth will look wonderful and you will feel more confident,โ said Emily. โThe people at Orthodontics Associates care for you and want to make you look your best.โ
