TMJ Treatment
Orthodontic treatment can be a beneficial approach for some individuals experiencing Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders, particularly when the issue stems from bite misalignment or malocclusion. By aligning the teeth and correcting the bite, orthodontic interventions can help reduce strain on the TMJ, potentially alleviating pain and improving jaw function. However, it’s important to note that TMJ disorders are complex, and orthodontic treatment is not always the sole solution.
Are you experiencing chronic jaw pain? Review some of the common systems listed below and if you feel there are issues that indicate a bite problem, contact Orthodontic Associates for more information at (405) 947-1526. We offer free consultations with x-rays.

What’s phase I orthodontic treatment?
Phase 1 treatment (braces or Invisalign) is for kids who are still in the early stages of having a mix of baby and adult teeth. This usually occurs between age 6-9. The goal of phase I treatment is to develop kid’s jaws and/or teeth to make room for existing teeth and incoming permanent teeth. 🦷

Caught a teaching moment with Dr. Archer and little sister. At Orthodontic Associates, we start seeing kids as young as 7 to check on the growth and development of their smile. With our expertise, technology, and additional years of schooling, our doctors can determine when a child might need orthodontic treatment, if they need early intervention, and what teeth might be visiting the tooth fairy soon! These appointments are FREE, comfortable, and your child gets a prize just for visiting us!
