A SMILE STORY
Local singer and songwriter, Gentry Counce, recently came to our practice complaining of jaw pain and discomfort. Diagnosed with TMJ issues, it was difficult for her to enjoy her passion in life, singing and making music.
To ease the discomfort and to align her jaw better, we placed a splint in her mouth and aesthetically pleasing modern braces.
“With orthodontic treatment, my pain has subsided, and I am able to sing better for my listeners,” said Gentry. “Before my consultation with Orthodontic Associates, I started to have severe jaw pain to where I was unable to perform. The splint they gave me worked and I was able to start booking myself again during my treatment. I am so glad I can now sing with ease. My bite has been corrected and I did not have to have surgery.”
Gentry Counce completed her first acoustic album comprised of 20 original songs. You can purchase and listen to her album on Bandcamp.
“I’ve gotten so much support in Oklahoma,” said Gentry. “I have been able to blossom here.”

What’s phase I orthodontic treatment?
Phase 1 treatment (braces or Invisalign) is for kids who are still in the early stages of having a mix of baby and adult teeth. This usually occurs between age 6-9. The goal of phase I treatment is to develop kid’s jaws and/or teeth to make room for existing teeth and incoming permanent teeth. 🦷

How often are my orthodontic appointments?
