Meet Ashtyn! Ashtyn finished her Orthodontic Associates’ smile treatment a couple years ago. Originally from Edmond, Ashtyn is now a freshman at Oklahoma State University majoring in Biology Pre-Med, and plans to become a dentist. Recently, we caught up with Ashtyn to hear about her experience with OA, and how her new smile has changed her life.

Hi Ashtyn! Can you tell us about your experience with Orthodontic Associates? What did you like most about coming here?

I had to get braces in middle school. I was a bit nervous about the process and the time it would take to transform my smile. When I walked into Orthodontic Associates for my first appointment, I immediately felt so welcomed and ready for my process of braces. I enjoyed my time at OA, because the staff and doctors seemed to love their job. They were always so kind and ready to answer any questions I had throughout my journey with braces.

Why did you decide to get treatment?

I decided to get treatment, because my teeth weren’t the straightest, and I had a slight overbite. My mom had worked there for just about 17 years, and OA was also recommended by my dentist.

How did you feel about your smile before treatment?

Before treatment, I was not very confident with my smile. Some of my teeth were higher than others and not as straight as I wanted them to be. When I look back at pictures before I got braces, the difference in my smile is very noticeable. It amazes me to see how evident the progress and my confidence is now when I look back at my old smile.

How has your new smile impacted your life?

I am more confident in my smile, and many people have complimented my smile and teeth. My new smile has given me a tremendous amount of confidence and makes me want to smile all the time.

What would you say to others considering orthodontic treatment?

The best advice I could give to anyone considering orthodontic treatment would be to go for it. It may seem like a hassle, and it may feel like it will take a lot of time. However, during treatment, I felt improvements every week and felt more confident as the weeks went on. Feeling the braces’ adjustments progress feel so much faster, and I was anxious to see the final results. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to have braces and see the difference braces really made to my confidence.
