The Baker family, Kim, Dave, Amelia and Noah, have been part of our Orthodontic Associates’ family for several years now, and we just love them! We asked mom, Kim, and her kids, Amelia and Noah, to share more about their orthodontic smile experience so far. Amelia recently finished braces, and now loves her new braces-free smile. Noah is currently in braces, and they are excited to see his progress continue!

OA: Hi Kim! Tell us about your family, and what your family enjoys doing in your free time.

Kim: We moved to Edmond, Oklahoma from Virginia eight years ago, and we have fallen in love with the town. We have been so blessed to find a great church, good friends and wonderful healthcare providers, like Dr. Geoff Sparks!

Noah loves to play soccer and is a freshman in high school.  Amelia loves writing stories and creating TikTok videos. She is a junior in high school.  Our family loves to go see movies at Showbiz Cinema, and we love the annual 4th of July parade through downtown Edmond. We enjoy taking our dog, Sophie, for hikes in Red Rock Canyon.

Why did you decide to get orthodontic treatment for your kids?

We were referred to Dr. Sparks and the team at Orthodontic Associates by the equally amazing Dr. Heath Whitfield at Edmond Pediatric and Teen Dentistry.  Dr. Whitfield explained how he and Dr. Sparks work together with their shared patients, and I loved the idea of that cooperation between experts.

We decided to get treatment at OA, because Amelia had an overbite and crooked teeth, and Noah had misaligned teeth as well.  We wanted their teeth to look their best and make sure their smiles were healthy, as well.

What has your family’s orthodontic treatment experience been like so far at our office?

We have had a great treatment experience at Orthodontic Associates!  The practice does a great job creating a space that is inviting and comfortable. Movies are playing for the kids to watch while they’re lying in the chair. The staff works really hard to build relationships with the kids.  Our appointments are kept on time, and only rarely have we had to wait for our appointment.  The staff is very friendly, and always calls me back if I have to leave a message.

Amelia and Noah, how do you feel about your smile before and after getting braces?

Amelia: My teeth were definitely crooked before my braces.  Now they are nice and straight, and I love my smile! It gives me the confidence to smile at people at work.

Noah: I still have my braces on, but I’m looking forward to having straight teeth and a nice smile.

Kim, as a parent what attracted you to Orthodontic Associates?

I love that the staff care about my children and want to create a positive experience for them.  Having braces can be uncomfortable at times.  So, having an orthodontist who is gentle, explains everything, and is kind and compassionate greatly helps the entire process!

Dr. Sparks and his team are not overly aggressive by suggesting invasive procedures when waiting for a few more months might produce the desired result.  The orthodontists connect with the kids on their level, and the kids feel like valued members of the decision-making team.

We are truly grateful for the skilled care we’ve received from Dr. Sparks and all the staff at Orthodontic Associates!  We will recommend them forever!
