ABOUT TREATMENT COSTS AND INSURANCE

We don’t want your experience at Orthodontics Associates to feel transactional. We know it’s about a relationship, so we offer various ways to make financing simple, affordable and customized for you.

We offer a variety of Invisalign treatment plans for your smile and budget. Complete Invisalign treatment ranges between $4,000 to $7,000 before dental insurance. Our Smile Essentials plan, for limited tooth movement, starts at $2,995 or as low as $65 per month, depending on loan finance options.

Our Invisalign treatment pricing is no more than braces. Our board-certified orthodontists will recommend the best orthodontic treatment plan for your smile during your free consultation.

Depending on your treatment plan and necessary movement for your smile, the total cost of orthodontic braces ranges between $4,000 to $7,000 before insurance.

Many dental insurance plans cover a percentage of orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign, metal or clear braces.  Insurance coverage varies depending on your plan.  While we are only in network with Delta Dental, we do file to all commercial dental insurance policies as a courtesy to you.  We do not file to Medicaid, Soonercare or Medicare.  During your free consultation, we can review your dental insurance and discuss your level of coverage.

In most cases, yes, you can use your FSA or HSA for eligible orthodontic treatment.

Some of our patients choose to pay in full for orthodontic treatment and can receive a discount. However, most patients choose extended financing as an option for their orthodontic treatment over the course of several months or even years.

We can customize a solution for your financial wishes.

Your braces or Invisalign treatment fee will include one set of retainers at the end of your treatment that are needed to hold your teeth in their new position. There is an additional charge for retainers that are lost or broken.

The price you pay for your orthodontic treatment covers everything we do from start to finish, including one set of retainers.  Each treatment plans outline about what is included. Additional charges may include lost Invisalign trays, or lost, broken or additional retainers.

Yes, we do accept CareCredit and Lending Point. Both are what is called “third party payers.”

Lending Point offers you the opportunity to apply for a dental loan. With a dental loan, you could borrow the money required to cover important dental work then make monthly payments until the amount you owe is paid off.

Since dental loans are really just personal loans, they work just like a personal loan you might take out for another purpose, such as remodeling your kitchen or consolidating debt. Generally speaking, personal loans come with a fixed interest rate and fixed monthly payments for a predetermined length of time.

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card you can use to get special dental financing options. CareCredit helps you pay for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for you, your family, and even your pets! Once you are approved, you can use it again and again to help manage health, wellness and beauty costs not covered by insurance.

We offer the CareCredit for 6 months no interest plan and their 24-, 36- or 48-month options with interest.

Ask if there is an orthodontic waiting period.

Some dental insurance plans require you to carry orthodontic coverage for 12-48 months before you or your family are able to use your orthodontic benefits.

Ask if there is an orthodontic age limit.

Some dental policies only cover dependents to either 19 or 26 years of age. Some plans cover adult dependents only if they’re a student, and require student status proof (valid and current student ID, latest grade report or enrollment papers). If the policyholder is an adult between 19-26 years of age and the policy only covers dependents for orthodontics, the policyholder will more than likely not be covered.

Ask if your policy covers orthodontic work in progress (OIP).

If you or your family are currently in orthodontic treatment, we encourage you to find out if the policy covers orthodontic work in progress (OIP), meaning that treatment was started before the policy was active. Most insurance companies consider orthodontics as on-going treatment, not a one-time visit, so the majority of plans pay over the course of treatment and not in one lump sum.

If your coverage cancels or changes in the middle of treatment, your insurance hasn’t paid the expected benefit, and you don’t have new coverage or your new coverage doesn’t cover OIP, you are responsible for the unpaid insurance balance. If your new insurance does cover OIP, they won’t necessarily pay the entire orthodontic benefit. New insurance will only pay for the remaining months of treatment.

Your HR or benefits administrator should be able to answer these questions pretty easily or be able to direct you to someone who can. If you have any questions about your insurance, feel free to email our insurance coordinator, Suzi, at insurance@oasmiles.com. She is happy to answer any questions she can, and look over future orthodontic coverage information to give you her best recommendation!
