MEET DR. JOHN ARCHER

While in school, Orthodontist Dr. John Archer chose to pursue orthodontics because of the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients, parents and dentists in the community. He enjoys working with local dentists on difficult, yet rewarding, patient cases like cleft palates and other craniofacial malformations to give patients a healthy smile and change their lives.
He is a member of a local dental study club, which is comprised of various Orthodontists in different dental fields to discuss treatment planning and difficult cases.
Dr. John Archer received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Baylor, and then returned to his home state to attend dental school at the University of Oklahoma. After earning his certificate of orthodontics at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1996, he joined Orthodontic Associates.
Dr. John Archer is married to his high school sweetheart Sheila, and they have four daughters, Lauren, Grace, Caroline, Ella and one son, Will. His family is very involved in activities with Crossing Community Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
GET TO KNOW DR. ARCHER
Social media. Are you on it, do you like it, what are your feelings on Instagram and Facebook?
JA: I enjoy social media. I like keeping up with friends who I see frequently as well as friends from the past and friends that live in other cities. I have several Twitter lists that provide good content on topics that interest me.
If you had it to do all over again, would you still become an orthodontist?
Becoming an Orthodontist was one of the best decisions in my life. I am blessed to have a career that I love and I get to work in a practice that continues to grow and evolve. For me, this career fits me perfectly. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Harry Potter or Hunger Games?
Neither. Star Wars all the way.
What do you keep stashed in your top desk drawer?
Packets of Ketchup, Mustard, Salsa, Splenda, Salt and Pepper – these can make or break a good lunch.
Best advice for kids entering high school?
Take a rigorous class schedule. It is the best preparation for college. Once you decide on your career choice, and you’re working on getting into college or higher learning, don’t take no or a rejection letter as the final answer. Keep working and pursuing your dreams. Get up and try again.

WHAT THEY SAY
The Orthodontists take the time to consult one another on the best course of action for each individual patient. The amount of time and care given to every person that walks in is remarkable given the state of customer service these days.
They make everyone comfortable and are so good at what they do. My girls had to start early wearing expanders to make room for their adult teeth. They have given my children the most beautiful smiles I could ever imagine.
The staff and Orthodontists at OA are phenomenal! They are encouraging and passionate and I look forward to going to my appointments. My smile has greatly improved and most importantly for me, I don’t have jaw pain anymore!
Couldn’t have had the smile I have today without them! They are an amazing group of people, a family actually. They are awesome at what they do, and are here to help you look and feel beautiful! You guys rock!
